Here in the beautiful Sandhills of Nebraska, we are fortunate enough to have a variety of wildlife for our viewing enjoyment year round.
If you look closely you will also be able to spot a Whitetail deer, but look quick otherwise all you will see is the white of their tail as they flag a warning to anyone around. We are also lucky to have several turkeys that like to take flight and land in some of the trees around Lord Ranch. Keep an eye up and your ears open and you will be sure to spot them.
After the welcomed rainfall the Sandhills are alive with a variety of blooming flowers and aesthetic odors. In the evening, the pleasant odor of nut sedge is permeating our wetland site.
Here is a list of some of the birds that we have seen around the ranch:
Western Meadowlark – (Hybrids with Eastern)
Great Blue Heron
Northern Pintail Grouse
